Pumpkin Enzyme- Liquid
Pumpkin is widely consumed as food in many cultures around the world. One key property of the Cucurbita Genus is that when the seeds are mature the plant begins a rapid self- degradation designed to provide a fertile environment for the seeds to sprout. As is common with many plants pumpkin contains its own set of proteases, the proteins which breakdown other proteins. By fermenting the pumpkin fruit with lactobacillus lactis we are able to breakdown many of the complex bio-molecules releasing isolated phytochemicals.
SKIN CARE BENEFITS
Pumpkin contains a great range of amazing properties that benefit the skin in a number of ways. These include the following
• Pumpkin is filled with fruit enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), which increase cell turnover, to brighten and smooth the skin.
• Pumpkin contains antioxidant Vitamin A and Vitamin C to help soften and soothe the skin and boost collagen production to prevent the signs of aging.
Alpha-carotene, beta-carotene and other carotenoids are the protective antioxidants that are also responsible for giving pumpkins their bright orange hue. Pumpkins are therefore a good source of carotenoids can help to reverse UV damage and improve skin texture.
The carotenoids in pumpkin help reverse damage from the sun and help to improve skin texture.
. Pumpkin is packed with potassium, copper, magnesium, manganese and iron. Potassium helps promote healthy hair. Copper and zinc help to promote healthy skin and hair.
. Pumpkin is a good source of most of the B vitamins, including niacin, riboflavin, B6 and folate. Niacin helps treat acne and improve circulation. Folate also helps to improve circulation, which increases cell turn over and renewal.
Zinc in pumpkin seeds is brilliant for acne sufferers. Zinc will help control the hormone level and oil production, as well as assist with healing of the skin.
• Pumpkin enzymes are high in essential fatty acids and Vitamin E, which are necessary to maintain good barrier function of the skin. They also regulate sebum, great for an oily skin.
• The molecular structure of pumpkin is small and therefore can penetrate deeper into the skin when used topically. This is amazing for treating a dull complexion, aging skin and pigmentation.
Most proteolytic materials such as AHA’s or traditional enzymes such as papain or bromelain tend to be irritating on the skin. Much of the irritation is due to the over aggressive nature of these materials. Unlike other enzymes Pumpkin Enzyme shows an uncommonly mild irritation profile in a Human Repeat Insult Patch Test.
Pumpkin is also wonderful for dry skin. The natural enzymes in pumpkin help to get rid of dry skin cells by hydrating and softening the skin. It is excellent for the treatment of a dull complexion and helps with pigmentation problem.
