Tea Tree Essential Oil

Tea tree oil is defined by the International Standard by its active constituents, containing terpinen-4-ol, γ-terpinene, and α-terpinene as about 70% to 90% of whole oil, while ρ-cymene, terpinolene, α-terpineol, and α-pinene collectively account for some 15% of the oil.
The compound Terpinen-4-ol which is thought to be the responsible for fighting all three categories of infectious organisms (Bacteria, Fungi, and Viruses). It is well known for its properties as an antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antiviral, balsamic, cicatrisant, expectorant, fungicide, insecticide, stimulant and sudorific substance.
