How to Microneedle with a Hydra Roller and Hydra Stamp

What is Microneedling (Collagen Induction Therapy)

Hydra Roller and Hydra Stamp Gold Titanium needles is a microneedle device for delivering cosmeceuticals, formulation ampoules and hair growth solutions into the dermis by lightly tapping (or rolling depending in the type purchased) it on your skin. The penetration of the stratum corneum by the needles triggers the release of growth factors which help in treating scars, hyperpigmentation, and photoaging. After 4 to 6 sessions, the skin becomes completely rejuvenated and firm.

The hydraroller and the hydrastamp is specifically designed to be  exact and more efficient in use; It is designed with a 5ml ampoule container and a special spiral system is designed on each of the microneedles so that the serums used could flow down directly and efficiently into the dermis for maximum benefit.

What’s the difference between the hydro roller and a hydra stamp?

The hydra stamp causes minimal damage since it goes vertically straight into the skin, whereas the hydra roller goes in diagonally

How to use a Hydra Roller/Hydra Stamp

  1. Wash and Disinfect your roller

Wash the roller of stamp by swishing it vigorously in a bowl of mild soapy water (lukewarm). Afterward, rinse and disinfect your derma roller by letting it soak in 70 percent isopropyl alcohol for approximately 5 to 10 minutes.

  1. Wash your face

Thoroughly cleanse your face using a gentle pH-balanced cleanser. If you’re using a Hydra Roller or a Hydra Stamp with needles longer than 0.5 mm, you’ll also need to wipe down your face with 70 percent isopropyl alcohol before the rolling process.

  1. Apply numbing cream, if needed

Depending on your pain tolerance, especially if you are using anything above 1mm (anything above 1mm draws blood), you might need to apply a numbing (anesthetic) cream.

  1. Begin micro needling

Split your face into sections; like in the image below. (you don’t have to physically mark your face; you can draw a mental demarcation.

Avoid eye socket

Avoid rolling in the shaded area, which represents the orbital (eye sockets) area.

HYDRA ROLLER: Work by sections. Roll in one direction 6 to 8 times, depending on your skin tolerance and sensitivity. Lift the roller after each pass to prevent track marks. After rolling in one direction (example, horizontally), you begin again and roll over the places you have previously rolled, going in the opposite direction (example, vertically). It would mean that each section has been rolled over 12-16 times.

HYDRA STAMP: Tap the face of the hydra stamp with adequate pressure and lift, covering the face section by section, 12 to 16 times, depending on your sensitivity level.

  1. Wash your face with water

After you're done microneedling, rinse your face with water only.

  1. Clean your Hydra Roller or HydraStamp

Clean your Hydra Roller or Hydra Stamp with a non-aggressive detergent or soap. Don’t use a sponge, swish the roller vigorously in a bowl of soapy water. Rinse it out afterward and disinfect it by soaking it in the 70 percent isopropyl alcohol for 10 minutes. Store in a safe place.

  1. Follow a Basic Routine

AHAs (Glycolic Acid), retinol, acidic or active ingredients should not be used for 2-3 days after treatment to allow for maximum healing. Sun exposure is not recommended and sunscreen is encouraged.

The microneedle system is an amazing device to add to your beauty therapy for astounding results. Applicable in anti-aging treatments, plumping the skin for a more youthful look, FDA approved for skin resurfacing, little or no downtime compared to chemical peels, etc., and safe to use at home and for the skincare therapist beauty procedures.
