MIXED CAROTENOIDS & RETINOL OIL

Vitamin A is found in two primary forms: active Vitamin A and beta carotene. Active Vitamin A comes from animal-derived foods and is called retinol. This “pre-formed” Vitamin A can be used directly by the body; it does not need to first convert the Vitamin. The other type of Vitamin A, which is obtained from colorful fruits and vegetables, is in the form of “pro Vitamin A” carotenoids, which are converted to retinol by the body after the food is ingested. Beta carotene, a type of carotenoid which is found primarily in plants, needs to first be converted to active Vitamin A in order to be utilized by the body.

This unique combination provides a more balanced and responsive combination; Retinol is readily used by the skin as it’s in the form the body needs it. However, retinol is unstable in light and tends to oxidize quickly. That’s why retinol is usually recommended for night time use. It can also be drying and irritating if the skin hasn’t been gradually conditioned to it. Meanwhile, the addition of carotenoids means that when the skin needs vitamin A it will be readily converted. Carotenoids are very stable and counteract many free radicals. Its also very good at preventing lipid preoxidation. It has photo-protective properties, therby reducing redness from UV radiation. (This does not exclude the necessity to use a sunscreen during the day, if you will be exposed to intense sunshine for long periods). Carotenoids also protect vitamin C in the skin which is the building block for Collagen. This makes Mixed Carotenoids and Retinol a potent and more stable addition to your formularies than either of the two groups on their own.

Mixed Carotenoids and Retnoil oil is involved in reducing inflammation through fighting free radical damage, maintaining healthy clear skin, and supporting immune function. The anti-oxidant property of the beta carotene helps in preventing premature skin aging. It also imparts a natural glow to your skin and makes it more attractive and beautiful. Retinoids help fade dark spots caused by photo-aging, acne scars and other post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. In your skin lightening formulations, Mixed Carotenoids and Retinols speeds up the removal of melanin pigment and accelerates the actions of other brightening agents. It also decongests pores by opening up clogged follicles, clearing out the follicular debris, and preventing the formation of new clogs – thereby helping in the healing of and preventing acne.
